My wool tapestry

Hi group, I realized that there were a few things over the years that I had not taken photos of and I remedied that. One of them was a wool tapestry. It is framed under museum glass and it still looks beautiful. Like all fibre folk, I regret not being able to touch it anymore :-)

I would love to do another tapestry, but tapestry takes forever. Any progress you make is beaten down. It feels like an inch an hour sometimes!

I've never done tapestry before, but I've heard it's time-consuming and fiddly so I'm impressed that you've done it. I'm so impressed by the shading, and I think it looks really neat and even. I'm sure I couldn't keep anything that precise.

Thanks :-) It can be a little fiddly - but it's easy to try out on a small lap loom. I had professional instruction at art college in the intro fibre course (I sucked at just about everything except tapestry - felting is a lot harder than one expects and screen printing is way messier). You might surprise yourself :-)

So beautiful! I feel much the same about cross stitch. I also have a "beadpoint" that I'm working on that if i get 1 square inch done in a couple of hours, that's doing pretty well.

Heh! I had a beadpoint kit or two back in the day :-) It's so wonderful to see it come together, regardless. That's why I enjoy your pictures so much.
