crafty | hand sewing project started AND finished

I have a long walking skirt that I want to wear when it starts really getting cold here, but the hem is sewn with a plastic thread that pokes out and sticks me in the ankles when I walk. So I found some herring tape and decided to cover it!

First I was too lazy to get my sewing machine set up (I just moved) so I decided to hand stitch. Then I didn't want to go digging around for a thimble (also a mistake). The one time I pick up a hand project and finish it in one setting, I do zero of the things I need to.

Two hours later I have a perfectly comfortable walking skirt, a few sore fingers, and an aching back But still! It feels good to get one more project off my mind :)
