Cleaning out the craft room!

Hi friends, I'm so tired of cleaning. We had an unplanned home repair (to put it succinctly) and we ended up getting rid of a lot of stuff PDQ. We're still getting rid of stuff and this weekend I took up the challenge of cleaning out my craft room/office. The last time I did this was in 2010 - it was a major undertaking! This time it wasn't so bad, but once stuff comes out of storage for the basement, I'll be a lot choosier about what stays and what goes.

Have you cleaned the craft room lately? What crafts/interests have fallen out of favour? Any surprises or great finds?

Hey, I've been doing this, too! A great deal of what was in my craft room had NO business being in there, but since my craft room is right off the living room, it tends to collect things that need to be out of the way when we have to quickly clear the living room. Hopefully, since I've been trying to keep up with the tidying in the living room and trying to PUT AWAY instead of down, the craft room collecting random crap will be mostly in the past.

Nothing in particular has fallen out of favor. I did find the yarn I pulled out for the next braided cross stitch project, which I'm hoping to start this summer. I'm sorting through and putting away A LOT of beads that have managed to escape their boxes, or were in "working boxes", or were new things I aquired that never got put away. Every time I go looking for the storage box that the beads need to get put it, there's a combination of, "wow, that's really neat; I forgot I had that!" and "WTH are you doing THERE?" and "I could have SWORN I already had a box for those!"

LOL we're on the same wavelength! I destashed a lot of beads a few years ago, but they keep popping up. I found a baggie of polymer clay ones that were totally forgotten about.

I have work boxes too for different projects. They're a blessing and a curse. After a while they just accumulate parts of different projects :-D

I, uh, just bought a rolling cart for my working boxes ... because I am totally on this "complete projects" thing, that's it. Gonna be real good at finishing projects now that I have more boxes and a cart.

You can do it :-D I have been making weekly trips to the dollar store to buy plastic shoeboxes as the need arises.
